In 2018 I was introduced to SCN from my former assistant Joe Alexander (now head of Sports Performance at Johns Hopkins) and I was mad that the education inside SCN was better than what I learned in my PhD classes.
None of my classes I took while completing my dissertation shared the exact X's and O's of improving athlete performance. The fact that SCN had this made me mad because I thought to myself, why isn't this being taught in classrooms?
As I was watching Alex Natera talk about run specific isometrics or Jake Tuura and hypertrophy clusters I knew I was going to be a better coach from this education. I consumed all of the webinars and became obsessed.
With my improved knowledge, my athletes improved their health and power. My athletes player health statistics were better than the department average (and I worked with football - this is NOT supposed to happen when you work with a collision sport). But I had knowledge from Andy Ryland on how to prep for contact, so our guys were healthy.
I started to learn how to build better systems and better training programs. I now had more time on my hands, my athletes were performing better, and I was spending more time with my wife and kids.
My goal with SCN is the same for you. I wan your athletes to improve their health and performance metrics. I also want you to be able to spend more time with your loved ones so you can pour into your athletes.
