I want to double down on the SpeedSig stuff that Dr. Jason Weber talked about with me. If this is your first time hearing about SpeedSig read this blog and then come back to us. This all started back in 2023 when TK told me about Jason. I had Jason on the pod in 2024 and stayed in touch since. Since then SpeedSig has continued to be adopted by multiple sporting organizations:
LSU Football
Michigan Football
USF Football
LA Chargers
Carolina Panthers
England Rugby
and a whole host of Football (soccer for our USA audience) clubs.
I want to zoom in on one of these organizations - Michigan Football. Zach Higginbotham
is the Director of Sport Science at Michigan and has been using SpeedSig for awhile. This comes as no shock because of how TK and Zach and Zach are friends. Zach is also a brilliant mind in S&C (this is why Zach has been on the CMW before - click here for his episode - Zach has also presented inside SCN on Olympic Lifts and how to perform them - members click here for that presentation).
Back to my point about Zach and SpeedSig. Here is a post from Michigan safety Rod Moore Jr:
Moore had hurt himself prior to the 2024 season and is rehabbing his way back. As of right now it is middle of May 2025.
Zach reposted Moore's video and look what Zach posted:
Take a look at the top of that again. See who Zach tagged? See what is around Rod's waist? The answer to both questions is SpeedSig. SpeedSig is On-Field Biomechanics for Sport Performance. Just like GPS made on field sprint/COD volume quantifiable, this is what SpeedSig does with running biomechanics.
Like I said, this software will help you be a better coach. IT WILL NOT MAKE YOU A GOOD COACH. You still need to know what to look for in sprinting. This will help you quantify things in your high performance meetings. You can learn more about SpeedSig here.
